The budget minded traveler can enjoy an eco-alternative with European-style cottages nestled in to the serene environment of Booby Hill. Nature lovers who prefer priceless amenities like a hammock overlooking a deep blue sea and genuine hospitality to air-conditioning or TV, will find El Momo to be the perfect retreat.  This photo of me with an iguana on the steps of El Momo is not something unusual or staged.  This is the type of encounter you can expect at this special property.  El Momo is not for everyone but those who can handle going up a few stairs and are looking for an alternative to a standard hotel room, you're in for a special treat.

My return to friends Ollie and Angelika was especially delightful after meeting their latest edition:  Luca, a handsome young boy who is already walking.  After a wonderful evening of Angelika's cooking, I can encourage you to take the opportunity to dine right at El Momo any chance you get.  From the home made breads at breakfast to the banana rum night cap, every part of the meal has a special personal touch, as does all aspects of this property.  Cottage in the Sky is like no where else!  A million dollar view, a fully eco love nest--does it get better? More cottage upgrades were put in place last summer so now you have more choices at El Momo  Turtle Cottage now also has a full kitchen and private bathroom.  Two other cottages have been upgraded with private bathrooms leaving just 3 cottages that share two facilities.  Still the best value on Saba and perhaps in the Caribbean--prices range from $42/night single to just $45/person for a super love nest, based on double occupancy.

El Momo is a 10 minute walk up a residential road from the island's main village of Windwardside. The perfect place to „free your mind“ awaits. A set of stairs leads you to six small wooden cottages which are surrounded by tropical flowers and palm trees with a view overlooking the hills and the Caribbean Sea. We are proud of our list of return clients but equally pleased with our resident iguanas, hummingbirds and treefrogs. Each cottage offers a private balcony with (of course!) a great view of the ocean.  The charming, shared bathroom building is located close to all cottages. In addition to our swimming pool El Momo also offers a cozy lounge area complete with a hammock near our honor bar. The famous El Momo breakfast includes homemade bread, fresh fruit, special coffee and a selection of teas. Ask about inclusive packages which include breakfast and other items.

Owners Oliver and Angelika Hartleib are your knowledgeable hosts. They are fluent in English, German, Italian and even some Spanish and French. As active hikers and divers themselves (they have both worked on Saba before as dive instructors), they are pleased to offer advice as well as arrange a special dive package that suits you.
